Las Fallas 2025
Las Fallas; the annual Festival of St. Joseph in Valencia, Spain attracts visitors from all over Spain, Europe and the wider World. Held from February 28th to March 19th each year, the festival focuses on the fallas monuments, sculptures made from polystyrene, papier mache and wood. As ornate and detailed as any statue, they can range in size from a small car to a multi-story building. Some 700 such sculptures will adorn the city each year, set on street junctions where they are judged before being burnt where they stand on the night of March 19th, “La Crema”.
The festival is also a magnet for firework fans and pyrotechnics are an essential part of any Valencian celebration. Huge firework displays will take place late into the night within the city, whilst the festival is also synonymous with the “mascleta”; a firework display generally fired during the day using whistles and reports (bangs) to create cadence and thunderous noise. It is an experience not to be missed should one ever have the opportunity!!
Members of the Arilan team regularly attend the festival to network with Spanish firework teams and manufacturers, as well as to meet old friends and immerse in an experience that defies any ability to adequately describe it!
